Scope and Sequence
July 16-August 3, 2018

 

Digital Think Tank Objectives:

  1. Participants will identify ways that they communicate with families and how engagement is received by school leadership.
  2. Participants will identify common benefits and challenges in partnering with parents.
  3. Participants will brainstorm ideas about how teachers can use digital communication platforms to increase the number of advocacy-based interactions in their classroom/school communities (and what those actions could look like).
  4. Participants will consider the outcomes and challenges of facilitating conversations with teachers about increasing the number of advocacy-based interactions with families.

Essential question(s):

How can educators increase the number of advocacy-based interactions with their students’ caregivers (with the goal of promoting children’s growth and progress)?

How does the presence of school-based social media affect educators’ ability to involve caregivers in advocacy and decision-making that supports positive outcomes for their children?
