Sales Lead Generation Specialist


HEARD is looking for a Sales Lead Generation Specialist who is responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads to support sales to schools and educational-related organizations serving children (i.e., after-school programs, daycare centers, etc.).

This individual will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources, including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, their own network, discovery, and individual research. We’re only looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about talking to and empathizing with educators and administrators.

We are an early-stage company that is pre-funded. This is a full-time or part-time, equity and commission-based position until the first round of funding is raised. 

Responsibilities:

  • Qualify all sales leads based on lead qualification criteria definitions

  • Contact potential sales leads from the website, social media, upcoming ISTE Conference in June

  • Make outbound calls via email, social media, phone to teachers, principals, and district-level administrators

  • Use your creativity and excellent research and communication skills to initiate quality conversations with target leads.

  • Develop relationships with educators and administrators, approaching their problems with empathy and an eye towards how HEARD can help

  • Interact with customers in response to inquiries, concerns and requests about the product, responding promptly

  • Schedule appointments with qualified leads and make on-site visits to school offices to conduct demonstrations with teachers, administrators or PTA leaders or conduct these demos via video calls

  • Communicate your learnings about customer needs to the product team to inform the development and improvement of HEARD’s offering

  • Track effectiveness of lead generation efforts; propose and implement data-driven improvements to these efforts

  • Manage data for new and prospective clients in our CRM, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, marketing, communications or related field

  • A highly motivated self-starter with experience in business development, demand generation or lead generation

  • Excellent communicator and listener in-person as well as via phone and email

  • Experience in education marketplace or a current or former educator or school administrator a plus.

  • Empathetic and friendly, and enjoys connecting with new people

  • Persistent, organized, and goal oriented; Has a laser focus on getting things done and not letting things slip through the cracks

  • Strong observation and researching skills

  • Strong organizational and effective time management skills

  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and Hubspot a plus

  • Flexible and fun with an open mind and a positive energy

  • Interested in working for a mission-driven, social impact company from the ground up

  • Enjoy working on a small scrappy team. The founders are all parents who are looking for partners who understand the need the product is designed to solve; increasing family engagement and building stronger school communities.
