We don't sell or rent your Personal Information to third parties without your consent;
If your children's names are listed on HEARD, we don't show their Personal Information to anyone outside of their school or other group without your consent; and
We don't expose your Content with your name on it to third-party search engines without your consent.

We do not sell or exchange your information with any organization, public, private, or nonprofit other than your school.
No Information from Children Under Age 13
HEARD prohibits any persons under age 13 to use the Site. If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register for HEARD or provide any personal information about yourself to us. HEARD does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Information We Collect When You Interact With HEARD
You or your school may provide us with two types of information: personal information you or your school knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and Site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse the Site. Please review our Terms and Conditions for more details.
Information You Provide to Us
Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through HEARD's public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.
We may communicate with you if you've provided us the means to do so. For example, we will alert you of various activities via email. You can manage your email preferences on your settings page, though certain member-related administrative emails cannot be turned off. Also, we may receive a confirmation when you open an email from us. This confirmation helps us make our communications with you more interesting and improve our services. If you don't want to receive communications from us, please indicate your preference by visiting the Account Settings page.
Information Received From Other Members
You may be invited to join a HEARD group by someone you know, such as a fellow parent or teacher. As part of that process, that person may provide to HEARD your name, email address, and other information, such as the school and classroom with which you are affiliated. You'll be asked to verify this information in order to participate in the group. If you choose not to participate in this HEARD group, you may also opt to remove your name or other Personal Information from HEARD.
We will delete any information about you that is related to the group to which you were invited, but may retain Personal Information about you if you participate in other groups. If you have any questions about the presence of account information in our system, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information Collected Automatically
Whenever you interact with HEARD, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, device identification, "cookie" information, the type of browser and/or device you're using to access our Service, and the page or feature you requested.
"Cookies" are identifiers we, like most websites, transfer to your browser or device that allow us to recognize your browser or device and tell us how and when pages and features in our Service are visited and by how many people.
Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
Site Activity Information
We keep track of some of the actions you take on HEARD. For example, if you add a comment, in addition to storing the actual comment, we log the fact that you added a comment.
HEARD encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from HEARD so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. HEARD is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the HEARD Site.
Use of your Personal Information
We neither rent nor sell your Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone. However, we may share your Personal Information with third parties as described in this section:
Aggregated Personal Information that's no longer personally identifiable. We may anonymize your Personal Information so that you are not individually identified, and provide that information to our partners including, for example, selected merchants within your community. We may also provide aggregate usage information to our partners, who may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use HEARD, so that they, too, can provide you with an optimal online experience. However, we never disclose aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally, as an individual.
Agents. We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Unless we tell you differently, our agents do not have any right to use the Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.
User Profiles and Submissions. Certain user profile information, including your name, location, and any video or image content that such user has uploaded to the Service, may be displayed to other users to facilitate user interaction within the Service. Please remember that any content you upload to your public user profile, along with any Personal Information or content that you voluntarily disclose online in a manner other users can view (on discussion boards, in messages and chat areas, etc.) becomes publicly available, and can be used by others on the site. Your user name may also be displayed to other users if and when you send messages or comments or upload images or videos through the Service and other users can contact you through messages and comments. Additionally, if you sign into the Service through a third-party social networking site or service, your list of "friends" from that site or service may be automatically imported to the Service, and such "friends," if they are also registered users of the Service, may be able to access certain nonpublic information you have entered in your Service user profile.
Business Transfers. We may choose to buy or sell assets. If we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, Personal Information could be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.
Search Engines. We don't automatically allow the indexing of personally identifiable information within a group by search engines, such as Google, but we may allow search engines to index selected anonymized Content and aggregated information about merchants, places, and public events. We may also allow individual HEARD members to submit their profiles for indexing by public search engines.
Protection of Company and Others. We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we reasonably believe is necessary to comply with law or court order; enforce or apply our Member Agreement and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our employees, our users, or others.
Opt-Out & Unsubscribe
We respect your privacy and give you an opportunity to opt-out of receiving announcements of certain information. Users may opt-out of receiving any or all communications from HEARD by going into Account Settings. You can find this 1) on the web version by clicking on the arrow near your name in the menu bar at the top right and 2) on the mobile app by clicking on the menu icon on the top left (iOS app available late August 2017). Here, you have the ability to opt out of receiving email notifications for announcements to any groups you are a part of, deleting your own account, and opting out of occasional emails from HEARD (i.e., feature updates and tips on how to use the tool better).
