What are HEARD’s features?

The following features make HEARD an easy and effective communications tool:

  • Easy on-boarding - Set up takes minutes. Once your school is on board, everyone joins via a special invite link or member emails can be added like a traditional mailing list.

  • Many ways to access - You can access HEARD on mobile, tablet and desktop via four ways: web browser, iOS, email, and push notifications.

  • Several organizations; one login - Are you a parent with kids at different schools, a scouting troop, a soccer team, and book club? View and access all organizations from one place.  

  • Profile and directory - Everyone in the community creates their own profile with real photos and names, making it easy to identify people and connect. Adding contact and other personal information is optional.

  • Group creation - Your school can create custom groups for classrooms, grades, committees. And each member has the ability to create additional groups based on what they organize with the school community (i.e., clubs, sports team, book clubs, carpool groups) or their own personal connections. You can filter each group to view content by people, posts, or photos.

  • Multi-language translation - Select your preferred language from 100 choices. All your messages (private chat or posts) will automatically be translated to other member's preferred languages.

  • Two-way communication - Some platforms disable two-way communication for parents, so they are only recipients of information. On HEARD, everyone has the ability to post, reply, and message to create community.

  • Photo and file sharing - Share photos, files, and links in private messages and public posts. Other members can add to photo albums. And all attachments are easily viewed and downloadable to your device. Users have the ability to remove a photo from the public newsfeed.

  • Calendar and events - Integrate your school's calendar to HEARD. Whether it's a potluck, field trip, or conferences, PTA meetings, and no school days, use HEARD to create an event, enlist volunteers, and manage RSVPs.

  • Powerful search - Use the Search bar at the top menu to find what you need immediately -- names, dates, events, a topic or key word.

  • Custom notifications - Easily adjust the frequency of email alerts for each of your groups. For example, get alerts for a classroom and grade right away and wait to receive all other group activity in a Daily Digest.

  • Read Receipts - With every post you send, you can see who received it, read it, or failed to get it—ensuring no one is left out.

  • Archives - All your school's content on HEARD is archived indefinitely. And every member has access to these archives.
