I’m a teacher. How do I disable the ability for parents to comment on my posts?
It is not possible to disable parents’ ability to communicate on HEARD. HEARD facilitates two-way parent-to-parent and parent-to-school communication and collaboration. As such, it’s a tool for schools that want to foster and facilitate open, two-way communication among parents, teachers and school leaders. If you’re concerned about inappropriate comments, there are a few things to note:
Anyone can report or flag a post for inappropriate content. Doing so will send a notice to our team at HEARD to review.
If you are an admin, you can delete any post or comment in your group, removing it from everyone’s feed. Or you can remove a person from a group.
All users must adhere to HEARD’s member agreement which requires users to adhere to our code of conduct otherwise risk their account being terminated.
We encourage your school to develop guidelines for posting that you expect the entire community to respect and follow. Here’s an example you can edit for your school’s use.
